246 Days to go... TRANSFERS

¡hola familia!
> ¡elder summers ha sido llamado para servir en ´´cinco saltos´´ como
> lider de distrito! i´m so pumped! i didn´t write earlier this
> morning because i have been saying good bye to the members all day and
> we just finished playing futbol with the jovenes. it was pretty fun
> today. my bus leaves from trelew tonight at 10:30 and i should be
> arriving in cinco saltos tomorrow around 1 in the afternoon. it will
> be a LOOOONG bus ride, but i´m excited to start new. my new companion
> is another guatemalteco and his name is elder zarceño. i think that´s
> how it´s spelled... my comp elder escobar talked to him before in
> comodoro and he said that he is shorter and pretty tranquilo. i´m
> excited for the change, y encima, i think my new zone leader is going
> to be my trainer from comodoro!!! as a district leader, we will be
> able to do divisions for a day! this is his last transfer in his
> mission and he is going to finish in april so it would be really cool
> to see him again. i don´t know if he is still there because he
> started in september in that zone, neuquen 2 but it would be awesome.
> i finished well here with my comp, elder escobar, and we are
> definitely going to keep in touch. he is really cool and we became
> pretty good friends over the last 3 months. we had some rough patches
> but everything turned out in the end.
> parents- happy anniversary!!! i´m sorry for keeping you waiting all
> day for my letter... but maybe you already left. hey- thanks for
> sending that ´´deep doctrine´´ on the resurreccion, it is going to
> help escobar a lot this week. we had a cita with them on wednesday
> and i hope everything goes well. i hear that the new elder that is
> coming to take my place is from el salvador and that he is very lazy.
> escobar will be the comp menor, so he is going to have to drop the
> cane on him and work because we have some really promising things here
> in rawson and i´m going to miss it a lot. i ´´prophetized´´ to
> escobar and told him that he is going to leave rawson as comp mayor
> for the rest of his mission because he is going to grow a lot in the
> next few months.
> we had a zone conference this week with elder foster, a seventy. it
> was a really good conference and we talked a lot about how the members
> shouldn´t be helping us with the work, but we should be helping THEM.
> the members here don´t understand that concept and look down on us if
> we don´t have anyone in church. i´ve been working hard to change that
> reputation of the missionaries here and things have improved a lot.
> now, i don´t want all of that to caer when i leave... fetch.
> pero bueno. i really loved reading d&c 124:20. it talks about george
> miller and how the lord knows his heart and loves him for it. it
> makes me wonder about where i stand with Him. there´s always room for
> improvement. elder escobar and i had a really good week to finish off
> even though some of our fechas bautismales fallaron... it was good.
> on sunday, i was given some time to talk to the ward in sacrament
> meeting and despedirme. i really am going to miss them... they are
> like family to me and we had some really good times together. i would
> love to come back someday to rawson but i can´t promise that i will be
> able to. it´s pretty far.
> but i have almost everything packed and ready to go. right now, it is
> 7 o´clock. i´m a little nervous to start new but i´m also really
> excited to get going. we are going to head back to the apartment, i
> am going to shower real quick, finish packing, and then the hermano
> chemin is coming to pick me up and bring me to trelew at 9. elder
> castillo is also leaving on the same bus. he is going to roca so he
> will be in the same district as elder colombres, my last companion.
> if you have trouble finding cinco saltos on the map, look next to the
> capital neuquen in the rio negro province. i heard that it is going
> to be really hot the next few months but they are very famous for
> growing apples and pears. lots of apples and pears. cipolleti is
> very famous for their apples and cinco saltos is pretty close. now i
> have to go, but i will update you next week on how things go. i love
> you guys!
> con mucho amor y ánimo
> elder summers
